Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton announced their engagement in Oct. by posting a sweet photo on their social media accounts. This sparked speculations surrounding their marriage plans, with some fans hoping the couple tie the knot before the end of this year, but much to their chagrin, the couple has remained tight-lipped about the matter.

Stefani is quite excited to be engaged to her longtime beau Blake Shelton, but the still raging coronavirus pandemic has affected the wedding planning process. On Monday, the "Hollaback Girl" appeared for an interview on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, where she sweetly raved about how she and her fiance, 44, are meant to be together.

The 51-year-old pop singer admitted that it is funny to say engaged, and it feels weird. She noted that people have been asking if she was engaged to Shelton and when do they plan to get married for almost five years. Now that they are engaged, Stefani said it feels like she was in a cartoon.

Stefani released her new single, "Let Me Reintroduce Myself," marking her first solo non-holiday song since This Is What the Truth Feels Like (2016). She took to her Instagram account on Monday to share the cover art, showing two different versions of her, including one from her No Doubt frontwoman days and one from her latest avatar.

Seacrest asked Stefani if she fancies having a smaller or a larger wedding in the post-pandemic world. The pop singer said she wants to make sure her father Dennis and mother Patti attend their wedding. She noted that her parents did not come to Thanksgiving because they are scared, so she hopes it would rather not be a COVID situation.

She said she would rather not have masks during her wedding. Stefani was previously married to Bush frontman Gavin Rosedale, with whom she shares three children, Apollo, 6, Zuma, 12, and Kingston, 14. Even if they invite only family members, Stefani said they would end up having too many people, so they would wait and see what happens in the next few months.

Shelton proposed to her at his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where they were quarantining with her kids. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram on Oct. 27. A source told PEOPLE on Sunday that Stefani and Shelton were ready to walk down the aisle after falling in love in 2015 on the set of The Voice.

Noting this won't be a long engagement, the source said there is a reason why the country music star proposed to Stefani now, adding that they both are ready to get married. They do not fancy having a huge wedding and want their family and close friends to attend, and that's it, the source said.
