Actress Jennifer Aniston lost her first audition to “National Lampoon's Vacation” star Jane Krakowski years ago. The duo had also auditioned for “Friends” many years later but this time it was Jen who bagged the role.
Aniston got her major break on the popular television show titled “Friends” that was aired for around 10 years. However, before she became famous, the actress lost her first audition and did not get her desired role.
When Krakowski recently gave an interview to People, the star mentioned that she faced a still competition from Aniston as both of them had auditioned for the same role for a soap opera called “Search for Tomorrow.” Eventually, it was Krakowski who bagged that role.
However, there was a different story altogether when both these actresses auditioned for the character of Rachel Green on “Friends” after a decade. It was reported that this time around it was Aniston who had an upper hand because she got that iconic role.
Krakowski mentioned that she was quite certain that “every actor within that age group tried to get on ‘Friends’.” She revealed that everyone wanted to be auditioned for that role and rightfully so. The actress feels that “It was a show of a generation.”
So, Krakowski did not clinch both the roles just like the “Murder Mystery” star. However, both these actresses have had successful acting careers. Krakowski jested that although she cleared that first audition instead of Jennifer Aniston, she thinks “it’s turned out pretty well for her” as well.
Jane Krakowski starred on the hit “30 Rock” and “Ally McBeal” and considers the former as one of her finest acting experiences. She said: “It was truly one of the best experiences of my career.” The actress feels that when an actor gets a chance to be on a TV show for as many as seven seasons, “it’s so lucky.”
As far as Aniston is concerned, “Friends” was aired for 10 seasons. The actress developed a strong bond with many of her co-stars including David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Courteney Cox among others.
In other related news, Daily Mail reported that Aniston uploaded a video to show what her popular show “Friends” would have been like if shot during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She posted the clip on her Instagram page recently.
The 51-year-old actress reposted a clip of a reinterpreted theme of the show’s iconic theme song, which was originally composed by The Rembrandts. The catchy track’s new version has been rearranged to be in sync with the ongoing pandemic.
