Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister announced the birth of his new baby son recently. Frankie Boyle, the famous Scottish comedian took a swipe at the Prime Minister after he became a father for the sixth time.
Frankie Boyle allegedly mocked Johnson while the latter announced the birth of his sixth child. The comedian tweeted: “I guess we're supposed to ignore the fact that this is a guy for whom parental leave means becoming a parent and leaving”
The 55-year-old British Prime Minister has four adult children with Marina Wheeler, his estranged wife. He also has a love child conceived after having an affair with Helen Macintyre, a property developer. It was announced recently that Johnson and his fiancée Carrie Symonds have welcome a baby boy, their first child together.
A spokesperson revealed that Johnson and his fiancée “are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy”. The spokesperson added: “Both mother and baby are doing very well.” It was also shared that Symonds and Johnson would “like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team.”
However, Frankie Boyle did not seem to be too excited with this news and mentioned on social media that parental leave for Boris Johnson is to become a father and leave.
During the general election campaign in December, the Prime Minister refused to divulge the exact number of children fathered by him, Daily Record reports. It was in March when Symonds, 32, and the Prime Minister revealed that their baby is due in “early summer. “
They also shared the news of their engagement then. The news of their newborn child comes only weeks after Johnson was released from intensive care after being tested positive with coronavirus.
In other related news, Johnson mentioned that he will come up with a “comprehensive plan” soon to restart the British economy, help the residents travel to their workplaces, and reopen schools after the COVID-19 lockdown ends.
The Prime Minister sounded optimistic by mentioning that his country was “past the peak” as far as the outbreak of the virus is concerned. However, he has warned that the nation should not risk another spike in the number of cases.
Johnson mentioned that face masks will be an integral part of the strategy to come out of lockdown and are “useful.” Thousands of people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the United Kingdom and passed away.
Boris Johnson mentioned: “we can now see the sunlight” and yet cautioned that the country should keep the R rate below one to avoid the risk of a second peak. The rate refers to how many people are getting the virus from one infected person, BBC News reports.
