Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly told not to use their Sussex Royal website after they quit as senior royals. However, the website still happens to be active although Queen Elizabeth has banned them from using it.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were allegedly told to not use the word “royal” with their names after they decided to step down from royal duties. They officially renounced their royal roles in March. Also, as a part of their reported deal with Her Majesty, the couple was expected not to use their Sussex Royal brand henceforth.
The Duke of Sussex and his wife are now living in Los Angeles, California with Archie Harrison, their son. They are also maintaining a low profile amid the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.
Although it appears that the couple has plans of launching Archewell, their new venture in the immediate future, it is interesting to note that the Sussex Royal website has not been deactivated yet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were hopeful that they could continue to serve Queen Elizabeth even after they stopped being senior royals. However, their wish to partially serve the British Crown was deemed unfeasible by the monarch.
Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had reportedly applied to trademark the Sussex Royal brand even before they relinquished their royal duties, the monarch stopped them from using the same after their departure. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess had announced in February that the couple would not be using their Sussex Royal brand anymore. I
It was announced by the spokesperson: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use 'SussexRoyal' in any territory post-spring 2020." Meanwhile in a statement issued on their website, Harry and his wife had shared that although the Cabinet Office or monarchy has not issued any jurisdiction on using the word “Royal” overseas, they do not have any intention to use it in any territory.
The couple’s Sussex Royal website is still active though and it is not clear when they wish to deactivate it. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex bid adieu to their 11 million followers on Instagram with a touching message in March this year, Daily Express reports.
Prince Harry and Markle are maintaining a low profile ever since they relocated to Los Angeles. However, they still seem to honor their association with the UK based organizations even after moving out of royal life recently.
According to another report by Daily Express, Meghan Markle was seen making a video call with a Britain-based charity called Smart Works. She delivered a motivating message through her address.
