Julianna Margulies joined The Morning Show's second season streaming on Apple TV+. The 54-year-old actress will be seen portraying Laura Peterson's character on the show. Peterson will play UBA News’ latest talking head and work with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
The other cast members involve Desean Terry, Karen Puttman, Bel Powley, Nestor Carbonell, Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, and Steve Carell. Previously, the drama series announced new stars in the cast, such as Hasan Minhaj, Ruairi O’Connor, and Greta Lee.
Margulies completed her last drama series, The Good Wife, back in 2016 on CBS, while she also appeared on season one of Dietland. Moreover, she worked in Showtime’s Billions season five and The Hot Zone on the Nat Geo thriller.
The actress is one of the most talented and critically-acclaimed television personality. Margulies has been nominated ten times for Emmy Awards, and she won it three times for The Good Wife and ER. Moreover, she won the best actress in a drama series and has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards twelve times.
The actress has been represented by Wolf-Kasteler Public Relations, Gendler & Kelly, and WME. The Morning Show is an original series by the online streaming platform, which debuted in 2019. The drama series has been nominated for many Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, while Billy Crudup won Emmy for best supporting actor.
Aniston also garnered the best actress award in a drama series at SAG Award. The show revolves around behind the morning shows' scenes in a fictional format in the United States. Witherspoon and Aniston are portrayed as lead anchors on the show, while they also serve as executive producers of the show.
The series has been created by Kerry Ehrin, who is also an executive producer and showrunner. Michael Ellenberg also serves as an executive producer through Media Res. under Aniston’s Echo Films banner and Kristin Hahn, while Witherspoon executive produces for Hello Sunshine along with Lauren Neustadter.
Mimi Leder has also directed a couple of episodes on the drama series while being an executive producer. Last month, Aniston took Instagram to tease her fans as she informed being back to film the show, which was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Cory thrives in situations that he has to learn from and operate on his feet. The end of the season gave him a strong indication that things were going to change in pretty unpredictable ways,” Crudup told ET.
