The Fast & Furious film series has seen a myriad of feuds over the years, including some harsh words exchanged between actors Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson. However, the 41-year-old actor recently confirmed that his feud with The Rock is officially over.
Gibson and Johnson have been involved in a heated feud since 2017, before recently burying the hatchet. Appearing in an interview on Comedy Central's Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz, the singer-turned-actor noted that he and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has "peaced-up."
Gibson went on to reveal that he and Johnson talked for nearly four hours about a few weeks ago. Tyrese accused Johnson of causing to delay the release date of his latest Fast & Furious adventure, telling TMZ that The Rock was the reason why they have to push the release date back at the time.
During the interview, Gibson said the Jumanji actor is selfish, and it seems he is bent on expediting his own self-interests. The Baby Boy actor said that Johnson was making decisions from the seat he was sitting in.
Addressing the beef back in 2018, Johnson said a beef requires the involvement of two people, but this one was one-sided, and he had shared his opinion on social media platforms. The 48-year-old former WWE Superstar noted that Gibson appeared to be going through some issues in his personal life at the time.
He noted that they had not talked to each other, and he didn't see where they would, adding that he did not see a need to have a conversation. It looks like those sentiments have changed after two years.
The feud kicked off a few months after the release of The Fate of the Furious when Universal announced a delayed-release for Fast & Furious 9 or F9. The delay was a result of the production company's attempt to churn out Hobbs & Shaw ahead of F9, according to CinemaBlend.
The film revolved around Luke Hobbs, played by Johnson, and Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham. Gibson took to social media to express his frustration with this decision, accusing Johnson of trying to make the franchise about him and placing his needs about the rest of the Fast & Furious family.
Gibson had a heart to heart with one of Johnson's associates, and he apologized for his social media posts. Do you think Gibson's meltdown on social media was understandable?
