Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett has been engaged to his boyfriend, Jaymes Vaughan. The 39-year-old revealed that she cried in the ugliest way possible when the 37-year-old television host proposed to him.
Bennett said that what they have is extremely special, and he believes that someone might make a movie about them or maybe write a song. He further said that when they both are together, it feels there is nothing that they can't accomplish.
In an interview with People, the actor revealed that his longtime boyfriend got down on his knee to propose to him and dedicated a special song. He said that the proposal came to him as a surprise. While many couples are announcing their breakup amid the pandemic, it seems this couple is going stronger.
Earlier this month, Bennett said that he had been quarantined with Vaughan, which helped him strengthen the relationship. The actor's new holiday movie is slated to release on the Hallmark Channel, The Christmas House.
The film will mark the first movie on the network that has a gay leading couple. It seems Vaughan worked on the surprise proposal while the actor was busy filming for the upcoming movie. Bennett further said that he enjoys being unapologetically about himself, and it is adorable that Celebrity Page’s main host loves him unconditionally.
Bennett noted that quarantine had worked in their favor as it made them realize that they really love each other. He explained that after spending almost a week straight with his partner, when Vaughan leaves to get groceries for about 30 minutes, he immediately starts missing him.
The Christmas Made to Order star admitted that he feels like a puppy when he is not home and jokingly said that now he can relate with his golden doodle. He noted that his role in the upcoming movie gave him hopes for the future in real life with Vaughan.
The actor recalled one of the scenes when the couple has a little tiff as they go through an adoption process. However, soon they forget about their fight and come close to each other and surround their partners with unconditional love.
"That's when I realized, ‘this movie's so important because it's showing that unconditional love that a couple has for each other when all they want to do is start their own family and create a bigger family and create more love for everyone,'" he concluded.
