John Travolta took social media before Thanksgiving and shared a rare picture of his son, Benjamin Travolta, who celebrated his birthday. The 66-year-old actor who lost his wife, Kelly Preston, recently thanked his fans for supporting him amid the difficult time in his life.
The 57-year-old actress passed away in July because of breast cancer, and since then, the actor didn't speak on the public platform much about the tragic incident. However, Travolta celebrated the holiday season with his fans as he thanked them directly through a heartfelt message shared on Instagram. The actor looked extremely emotional in the video as he began to address his fans and followers.
"I want to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in such an incredible way this year. Happy Thanksgiving and always love," he said. A couple of days ago, when the Oscar nominee shared his and Benjamin’s picture hugging one another, he also wished his son in the caption.
Travolta shares two children with his late wife, Ella Bleu Travolta, who turned 20, and Benjamin, 10. Although the couple also had their first child, Jett Travolta, who passed away at the age of 16 in 2009 during a vacation. The cause of death was disclosed as a seizure attack.
This Thanksgiving marked the actor's first celebration without his beloved wife, with whom he celebrated over 28 years of marriage. In October, the actor celebrated his late wife's 58th birthday on social media by sharing his marriage ceremony's collage and his parents' nuptials.
Meanwhile, the actor shared screen space with his former Pulp Fiction co-star, Samuel L. Jackson. The actors recently reunited for a holiday commercial shot for Capital One, which has several Quentin Tarantino references.
The Oscar-winning classic was originally released in 1994. However, in the latest commercial, Travolta portrayed Santa Claus and brought Christmas gifts such as marshmallows, hot chocolate, and 3,000 bolo ties. The hilarious ad shows Santa Claus buying all these items online and adding to his cart. The 71-year-old actor calls Santa Claus while he is sipping his milkshake to check if he is off the "naughty list."
The commercial ended with the popular dance scene between Travolta and Uma Thurman, while in the background, Run Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry matched the steps. This film has been special in Travolta's career as it nominated him for Oscar for Best Actor, and it also won Best Original Screenplay at the 67th Academy Awards.
