Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne’s relationship has only grown stronger over the years as one of the more well-rounded royal, the only daughter of the monarch, has become an instant favorite between her parents.
But what is the relationship between the Queen and Princess Royal like? Body language expert Judi James shares to Express UK how Princess Anne’s ‘authoritative’ body language shows a close bond with the Queen.
Ms. James reveals that the language rituals between the two female royals go beyond ‘fond fussin’, but actually, the two have very complementary traits.
Princess Anne’s love for sports, especially those involving Equines, gives the two a proper bonding area. Anne is the only Olympian in the family through her sport of horse riding, which her mother loves.
Furthermore, Princess Anne has become the best support system. Her Majesty could ever ask for, according to Judi James.
“Anne’s respect signals for her mother show in the way that she gives out no sense of being ‘on alert’ to offer help or support, despite the Queen’s ninety-odd years,” James explains.
Queen Elizabeth has very high regards for her daughter and has honed her to be exactly like her, stern and respectable.
There have been questions if whether Queen Elizabeth would rather have Princess Anne become monarch instead of her eldest royal child, Prince Charles.
The truth is nobody really knows. Princess Anne, via the inheritance ladder, is far below all of his brothers. At the time of the Princess Royal’s birth laws of the Royals were unchanged.
It was only during the birth of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge women were allowed to be in the direct line of succession.
Either way, Princess Anne would effectively be a better monarch than Prince Charles, as she has been branded as the most hardworking royal in the family. She is also Prince Philip’s favorite child, and she has been mentored by her own mother very well.
Judi James also explained how Princess Anne has picked up several of the Queen’s gestures, such as solid eye contact and a determined stance.
Princess Anne’s popularity is not as high as that of other royals, duly so because of how dull her fashion is, but her work etiquette is un-comparable.
Her choosing to have her children carry no royal titles was game-changing, and it only shows that the Princess is ready to adapt to new world changes.
But unfortunately, the Princess will stay a Princess and never a monarch.
