While fans were wondering about the absences of Bad Bunny at the American Music Awards, it was revealed that the 26-year-old singer was tested COVID-19 positive. The news broke one day after the Urbano Latino musician garnered a favorite Latin album and favorite male Latin artist at the event.
The singer won the award for his studio album, YHLQMDLG. A close source disclosed that the singer isn't showing any major symptoms so far and he is feeling better. The singer's original name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio and he was supposed to perform during the event along with Jhay Cortez, who collaborates with him often.
However, this time the Puerto Rican singer performed alone, and social media was flooded with questions. Fans couldn't stop asking why Bunny was missing from the show virtually. However, the reason was kept under the wraps till Nov. 23.
Once the singer received his coronavirus positive reports, he enjoyed the performance from his house in Los Angeles. He also presented the award in the Favorite Female Artist category, while he also accepted the award virtually from his home.
The singer was supposed to perform Dakiti at the event, which holds the number one position on Billboard Global Charts. The songs ranked in the first position after analyzing the sales data and streaming online. The music track continued to stay number one on both the charts, Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200.
Besides Dakiti, Therefore I Am by Billie Eilish has won the second position in the global list. The data is collected by Nielsen Music/MRC Data from more than 200 territories across the globe to ensure the perfect rank. However, none of the territories include data from the United States.
Cortez and Bunny's Dakiti has more than 103.7 million streams and sold over 4,000 downloads globally. On the other hand, Eilish debuted on the list with Therefore I Am that sold 26,000 worldwide and 72.8 million streams.
Publicist Sujeylee Sola revealed that the singer didn't show any symptoms till Monday. The Associated Press said that Sola didn't disclose details further and said that the singer doesn't wish to do any interviews at the moment.
