Henson. The 50-year-old actress opened up about her state of mind following the split and noted she feels much better after calling off the marriage.
Henson was engaged to former NFL cornerback Kelvin Hayden for over two years. However, the actress shed light on what went wrong in her relationship during an interview with The Breakfast Club. She also disclosed what women had to deal with to save a relationship.
The actress said that she tried everything, including therapy, to keep her relationship with the football player. Although she noted that it was difficult because they both were not on the same page. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actress eventually made the big decision following her 50th birthday trip in Mexico, which was an all-girl party.
In an interview with ET, she told the host Kevin Frazier that she is doing much better after her breakup. The actress got candid with the host before she went on the stage to host the American Music Awards. She admitted that the birthday celebration and trip to Mexico changed her perspective on life.
She further said that she realized that she was not in her control after two years of engagement as she felt slipping away. The actress recalled she said to herself that once she is done with 50, she is going to be in charge again.
"I am going to get control of this mentally and not be like, 'You are getting old, don't nobody care, you ain't working,' Well, duh, no one is working, it is COVID. So I felt that coming," she explained. Henson said that she called her trainer as she wanted to stay positive.
Moreover, she urged her fans to work out on a daily basis if they want to come out of darkness or any kind of lows or depression. In fact, she was glad to don a glamorous outfit once again and host the award ceremony.
Henson said that she wanted to do a huge opening with many dancers, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, she could have a limited number of dancers and artists during the event. Despite having limited people, the host of the show ensured that the show is going to be creative.
