Isaiah Washington seemed to have holding grudges for his former Grey's Anatomy co-star Katherine Heigl. The 57-year-old actor who famously portrayed Dr. Preston Burke's character in drama series for the initial three years called out Katherine Heigl for her comments.
Recently, the showrunner of the drama series Krista Vernoff revealed that after Heigl left the show without any prior notice, they tried to get her back by working on her character's arc. Although it’s been over a decade that the 41-year-old actress quit the show.
The 46-year-old screenwriter disclosed that the show had planned a proper strategy to get her back and get connected to her character, Izzie with Alex, played by Justin Chambers. However, she refused to come and shoot on the day they were supposed to film. She further spent nights to rewrite the screenplay to cover up the absence of the actress.
“All I know is that the night before a thing is supposed to start shooting that is entirely centered on one character and the completion of her story arc, I got a phone call that she wasn’t coming to do it," she revealed while mentioning that she doesn’t want to bash Heigl.
Heigl recently got accused by her former co-star for making remarks that he should never speak out in public again. Washington wrote in his tweet that back in 2007, people agreed with her. However, he further wrote that he protested for his work while he wishes that Twitter was available back in the days.
Moreover, he said that he is never going to stop using his right to free speech. A netizen supported the actor and replied that it is good the actor learned to move ahead in a positive direction. Washington reverted back to the tweet and said that he learned that not all money is "good money."
He noted that no matter what amount of money you get, it can never replace integrity and dignity. Both the actors have been involved in drama before these tweets. As per Heigl, Washington had made homophobic remarks for another co-star, T.R. Knight.
The comment was passed when they were on the sets of Grey's Anatomy. However, the claim was addressed by Washington during Golden Globe Awards in 2007, and in response, Heigl stated that Washington should “not speak in public.” Later, Washington was removed from the next season and asked to give an official apology for hurting the gay community.
