It's only a few days until Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will celebrate his first birthday and it looks like his parents are preparing something special for his fans.
Express UK reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to release a new photo of their son to mark the occasion. This has been confirmed by their spokesperson. This is a very significant move on the part of the couple as they are notoriously private especially when it comes to their son's life. It will be remembered that they refused the request made Australia to name one of their air tankers after their son. It would have been a huge honor as the tanker played a great part in the Australian bushfire. They wanted to honor the young royal as they feel a special connection to him given that his mother announced her pregnancy while touring in Australia. But the couple was firm that Archie is not part of public life and therefore declined the honor.
According to Harper's Bazaar, the couple has not yet specified how exactly they will release the photo. Given that they will no longer be using the Sussex Royal Instagram account, they might be looking for alternative ways to release the photograph. It is unknown if they will just send it to many publications, or if they will give an exclusive to just one. The Palace will also not release it for them as they already have their own PR firm to handle all of that.
It has been almost a month since the couple stepped down from their senior roles as members of the royal family. They seem to be transitioning well in the new chapter in their life. While they have delayed the launch of their own brand, Archewell, they have found other things to be busy about.
Aside from just spending a lot of time inside their home, the couple has also volunteered for Project Angel Food, delivering food to the sick and needy. They have also settled at the Serra Retreat area in Malibu, where many other celebrities reside.
Actress Meghan Markle has yet to talk about plans to go back to Hollywood. Her only project right now is the documentary 'Elephant' which is streaming on Disney+. As for Harry, he has launched a new project called HeadFit. It is a website whose aim is to provide mental health support for the military community.
