The Undoing will be special for various reasons, including its thrilling plot, some scintillating performances by the lead actors, and nail-biting twists. Now Matilda de Angelis narrates her experience of performing in an intimate scene with Nicole Kidman in the miniseries.
The young Italian actress is seen in the HBO series alongside the English actor Hugh Grant and Kidman. It looks like the 53-year-old Aussie actress has left a mark on the rising actress after they shot an intimate scene together.
The miniseries covers the life of an affluent on-screen couple (played by Kidman and Grant) who live together happily with their only child. However, their life transforms after a brutal killing takes place in the city.
The Undoing is based on a novel titled You Should Have Known, which was published in 2014. Penned by Jewan Korelitz, the series have Kidman and David E. Kelley joining hands together once again after their successful collaboration in The Big Little Lies.
While each character in the Big Little Lies was lying and everyone was aware of that, there is no clarity on who is telling the truth in The Undoing (via Washington Post).
The lead actors refused to divulge the actual plot of the series though they both seemed to be ecstatic about it. While Grant thinks that the story has several fantastic “cliffhangers,” he did not elaborate on them.
On the other hand, when Kelley shared some of the initial drafts with the Eyes Wide Shut actress, the latter had a similar reaction like Grant. She had a “roller-coaster journey” while going through the script.
Meanwhile, Matilda de Angelis was at a loss to explain whether she enacted the intimate scene with Kidman properly or not. The actress was speaking to Vogue Australia while she narrated her experience of working with Nicole Kidman.
She was perturbed about her performance as she thought she was not a great kisser (via Daily Mail). So, she decided to watch the senior actress perform to learn a few things from her. Incidentally, this is the first time de Angelis will be seen in an English production.
Matilda de Angelis loved coming and shooting in New York City, and she regards it as one of the world’s most fabulous places. However, she had to put quite a lot of effort into polishing her English-speaking skills before she started shooting for the show.
Finally, Nicole Kidman proved once again that she is a versatile actress and a good singer. She lent her voice for The Undoing’s opening credits, a series that is being aired on HBO.
