Princess Diana had a very controversial life as a royal. But, reports claimed that Queen Elizabeth "understood" her challenges and struggles upon joining the royal fold.
She had a different reaction, though, when she saw what the late Princess of Wales did during her pregnancy to Prince William. In the late royal's confession, she said that she "threw herself" down the stairs, according to Cheat Sheet.
In his book, Diana: Her True Story, author Andrew Morton accounted the Princess's confessions via the secret tapes she provided him. In one of the recordings, she told the story of how she tried to get the attention of Prince Charles.
She was four months pregnant at that time. She recalled that she felt "desperate," and was crying her eyes out.
However, the Prince of Wales, reportedly, told her that she was "crying wolf," adding that he would not listen as she does this always to him. Following his departure for his ride, this was when she did the horrific stunt.
Princess Diana said that Queen Elizabeth came out when she intentionally fell down the stairs. The British Monarch was "shaking," noting that it "absolutely horrified" her.
The late Princess, also, recalled how the incident "frightened" the Queen. Nevertheless, she said that she did it to "cry for help."
It is no longer a secret that Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana did not get along well together. Although she was sympathetic to her daughter-in-law, this all changed as their lives continued, according to Good Housekeeping.
Several reports said that the British Monarch expected the future King's wife to understand all of the things within the British Royal Family and Monarchy. However, she was wrong when it all became a "burden" to the young Princess.
Before her official separation from Prince Charles, Princess Diana penned a letter revealing her views and emotions toward the British Royals. She said that she felt "isolated," noting that the members "continuously misunderstood" her.
Princess Diana, also, shared what Queen Elizabeth said to her about Prince Charles' affair. A separate report from Cheat Sheet recalled the confession and reported that the late Princess went straight to the British Monarch.
She, reportedly, asked her mother-in-law what she could do about the Prince of Wales. She asked for her help but, the Queen told her that she does not know what to do, adding that her son is "hopeless."
Apart from that, the British Monarch had no other words for the late Princess. But, royal experts claimed that Queen Elizabeth was very "upset" as she does not accept adultery. (This article is republished from Business Times)
