Little is known about the friendship struck between the late Princess Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles, but the inner circle of the two have claimed that they were inarguably good chums with each other.

Despite the rumors of the two having an entirely bitter relationship with each other, these claims are not wholly true.

The fact of the matter is, Princess Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles were very much in friendly standing with each other, especially at a time during Diana and Prince Charles dating phase.

Princess Diana, who was much younger than either Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, was unbeknownst to their deep connection with one another, although she was well aware that the two dated before.

According to royal author Penny Junor, Camilla Parker-Bowles, who was 14 years senior of Diana, acted like a big sister to the shy noble, to the point where Camilla was a supportive ambiance of Diana for the media.

It was also said that the late Princess of Wales often visited the country home of Camilla and husband Andrew Parker-Bowles, where she attended to their children.

In one of the many incidences wherein Princess Diana had suspicions of Camilla and Prince Charles rekindling their affair. Princess Diana shared one of the most striking instances with her royal biographer was Prince Charles's gift to Camilla right before their royal wedding.

The Prince was said to have given Camilla a charm bracelet engraved with G and F on it, which the Princess claims to be the initials of their pet names with one another.

In the early years of Princess Diana’s marriage with Prince Charles, Camilla was said to have respectfully distanced herself. She would often skip events where she knew the royal pair would attend.

But Princess Diana had her suspicions already that Prince Charles was still caught up with Camilla. It was rumored that Diana found a photo of Camila in Prince Charles’s diary.

The couple, allegedly, had a significant fight during their honeymoon on board the royal ship Britannica due to this.

Princess Diana’s friendship with Camilla became almost irreparable when in the mid-1980s, Charles rekindled with his old flame.

Diana and Camilla had a confrontation with one another after she surprised Charles and his friends, who were all attending the birthday celebration of Camilla’s sister.

The late Princess opened up about this confrontation in her infamous Panorama interview with Martin Bashir.
