Hollywood actress Kate Winslet was ecstatic when she realized that she had stopped breathing for seven minutes underwater while shooting for a film. This also meant she broke the earlier underwater shooting record of Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise.
However, the Oscar Award-winning actress did not even notice that she had bitten the Top Gun star’s underwater record, which he held for his film Mission Impossible-Rogue Nation.
The Titanic star sounded elated about her accomplishment when she was recently interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, which was shared on Tuesday. The 45-year-old actress thought it was hilarious as she did not have the habit of going through media reports or reviews.
She is not even on Instagram, unlike most other Hollywood stars. Winslet said she had been delinked from social media and that part of her life. So, she was taken aback when people came up to her and gushed about her new record. She wondered how they got to know about it.
While she was stunned by her feat, she took pride in her new accomplishment, which she performed in a tank while shooting in New Zealand. She was uncertain whether she could perform the same stunt again or not.
She realizes that her act was brilliant, and she felt proud of what she had done, Daily Mail reports. She performed the act after thorough training that lasted for four weeks. However, she loved every bit of it.
The Sense and Sensibility actress mentioned that getting acquainted with a new skill altogether is one thing she likes the most about being an actress. Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan were interviewed together by the publication. Ronan has been her co-star in a lesbian romantic film titled Ammonite.
The actress delighted her admirers with her newly-learned free-driving talent in some behind-the-scenes clips of the film Avatar 2 being shot underwater. Winslet was seen posing inside a water tank while filming for the eagerly-awaited sequel.
The film is slated to hit theaters in December 2022. Kate Winslet portrays the character of Ronal, who is a water person. Jon Landau, the producer of the film, shared this brilliant shot with the world. It had a striking resemblance with her iconic pose in the film Titanic where she starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tom Cruise was spotted shooting with Rebecca Ferguson, his co-star in the film, at the top of a Venetian hotel on Tuesday. According to another report by Daily Mail, the 58-year-old Hollywood heartthrob and the 38-year-old Swedish actress shared a hug while portraying their characters.
