The life of Meghan Markle in Britain was short of amazing. As an American, as well as an actress, it was hard for her to settle into the life of a British royal.
Royal experts believe that the Duchess of Sussex did not have high regard for the British people and the country as well.
In a discussion with Fox News, The Majesty editor Ingrid Seward shared her two cents regarding Meghan Markle's flection towards British people and the UK in total.
According to Seward, it is not hard to believe that Meghan felt largely misunderstood by Britons and that it is highly likely that the Duchess was aware that the Britons did not have a particular liking towards her.
“Meghan, I think she very much felt that the British people didn’t understand her or particularly liked her,” Seward expressed during the interview.
The Sun UK reports that Seward compared Meghan Markle to Wallis Simpson’s own experience with Britain.
The infamous Wallis Simpson got into a relationship with King Edward VI. Still, due to the complications of their relationship, Edward VI chose to abdicate his throne and chose Wallis over the British people and royal family.
Seward further explains that Simpson did not take a liking to Britain. According to the royal author, the American and twice divorcee Simpson was not a big fan of the weather in the UK and the country in total.
She continued by saying that Wallis and Meghan are in a very ‘similar scenario.’ Their husbands as well gave up everything for the women, both their royal status and their life in the UK.
Although Meghan and Harry are threading a different path than the one taken by Wallis Simpson and former King Edward VI, it is hard not to compare the two parallel narratives.
Furthermore, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to leave the royal family and step down as senior royals was the second time royals abandoned the firm in the Queen and Prince Philip’s time.
Royal biographers have revealed that Prince Philip thought that their exit would be extremely damaging to the royal family.
It is further believed that the Duke of Edinburgh has turned his back on Meghan and Prince Harry and was rumored to have purposely ignored the Sandringham Summit due to his disappointment.
Currently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are based in California. They have now settled in their own home in Santa Barbara.
