Kat Dennings opened up about supporting Billie Eilish. The 18-year-old singer was recently trolled by netizens for her body size, while Dennings supported the young musician against the trolls. A couple of weeks ago, the You Should See Me in a Crown singer got under the fire after her pictures circulated in Los Angeles, California.
Although the trolling didn't go well with Dennings as she responded to the trollers on Twitter, the 34-year-old actress disclosed that she also had a similar body type at the age of 18 and it would be nice if unhealthy comments just f--k off. She further said that Eilish is normal and beautiful.
In an interview with Katie Krause, the actress addressed the trolls' gross behavior on the internet while she promoted her upcoming movie, Friendsgiving. She shed light on the tremendous pressure every woman in the entertainment industry has to deal with and moreover, the trollers act awful.
“I don't know if it's because she's so young and it just feels so inappropriate for anyone to comment on any young person’s body. People forget themselves because the internet is this wall they can hide behind,” she explained.
Dennings felt personally attacked by this kind of trolling as Eilish is the youth icon who creates earth-changing art, which is unbelievable. The actress noted that she looked horrible when she was her age and got body shamed.
However, things are much better when it comes to body size now for not only girls but also boys. She recalled it was not the same when she was a teenager and she hopes that people understand that body-shaming is not acceptable.
It is worth noting that Dennings eventually became a successful actress who worked on projects such as Thor: The Dark World, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Big Momma's House 2. Moreover, she will be portraying Abby's character in her forthcoming movie, Friendsgiving.
The film revolves around Abby, who wants to spend her Thanksgiving with her best friend in hopes of sharing about her breakup and go to bed as early as possible. Dennings explained that the character seemed very relatable.
She also said that this movie is different because there are not many films based on Thanksgiving and it will be great for people who don't spend their holiday with family. The movie also features Margaret Cho, Wanda Sykes, and Jane Seymour in cameos.
