Today, every news channel, social media platform, and publication in the United States is discussing the 2020 Presidential candidates and who could be their possible supporters. Pop star Justin Bieber has been often subjected to rumors and false reports, including his possible connection to Donald Trump. So, here is the story to assess its correctness.
The singer has been accused of having a connection with Trump and showing his support for him through his Instagram and Twitter profiles from time to time. Such rumors originated in the initial days of Trump’s election campaign in 2016. A particular user account on Twitter has, allegedly, been responsible for sparking this speculation.
At that time, contrary to what some publications suggested, Bieber did not follow Trump on Twitter. Neither did he like his video on Instagram. The sad part is that it was not the only occasion when the singer’s social media accounts had been used maliciously against him.
Some screenshots were produced where the pop star was seen following Trump on social media and showing support for him, which were made up. The said video, which Bieber, reportedly, “liked” has Trump addressing some voters in the state of Wisconsin.
An account called Shady Music Facts on Twitter insisted that Justin Bieber had “liked” this post of Donald Trump. The shady user produced a screenshot of the pop star’s Instagram post, where he was shown to give a heart to the video. The user further wrote that Bieber appeared to be a fan of Trump and “liked” his recent Instagram video.
The same account on Twitter also tweeted claiming that the As Long As You Love Me hitmaker was following Trump on Twitter. The same Twitter account did not stop here and went a step ahead from there.
It stated that Bieber would not be able to cast his vote in favor of Trump because he was a Canadian (via Vanity Fair). This is despite the fact that he was a die-hard supporter of the Republican Party, the same account mentioned.
However, contrary to what the account claimed, Bieber has dual citizenship, which means he can vote in America. Also, the piece of evidence, which was produced to badmouth Bieber, appears to be a result of photo editing, Gossip Cop reports.
While some of the outlets covered the story, the pop star’s representative, reportedly, denied the claims made. Further, the rep said that the screenshots produced were not real.
Additionally, the said Twitter account had been suspended for some time now, which further supports the rep’s claims that Justin Bieber neither liked the Instagram video nor was following Donald Trump on social media. The screenshots produced to prove otherwise were questionable.
