Kylie Minogue, reportedly, left Queen Elizabeth to fend for herself during their meeting in 2012.
British comedian Lee Mack detailed the hilarious incident during an interview on The Graham Norton Show.
Mack said that in 2012, Minogue was in charge of touring and introducing the queen to some of the guests at her Diamond Jubilee. But the singer panicked and backed out of her obligation.
The comedian said that he saw the monarch awkwardly looking around and chatting with some of the guests. And her face was seemingly saying that she’s usually dragged away mid-conversation but no one was coming to get her.
In 2007, the queen honored Minogue for her contribution to the British performing arts. Minogue is one of the world’s most famous recording artists. And she is also a recipient of the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Meanwhile, the queen also made headlines this week after her reported feud with Margaret Thatcher was featured in the trailer for The Crown.
In the teaser, the queen (Olivia Colman) was thrilled to have a female prime minister (Gillian Anderson). However, the tides quickly turn on the two women.
Prince Philip (Tobias Menzies) says that his wife and Thatcher are running the shop, but this is the last thing that the country needs. But the queen said that having two women running the sho is probably what the country needs.
In the next scene, the queen warns Thatcher about making enemies. But the latter replies by telling Her Majesty that she doesn’t mind burning bridges.
During their conversation at the palace, Thatcher tells the queen that it’s time for her to ask the big questions because they are the same age after all. The queen asks who is older and Thatcher said that she’s older than the queen by six months.
While in her office, Thatcher says that her goal is to change the country from being dependent to becoming self-reliant. And she feels she’s succeeding with what she’s trying to do.
In the next scene, Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) is looking at himself in the mirror. He is thinking about the day that he would become king. But his dad tells him that he should first focus on finding a woman that he would marry.
Enter Princess Diana (Emma Corrin), who looks as innocent as ever. When the door opens, thousands of cameramen are waiting for her outside and taking her photos.
The new season of The Crown will premiere on Nov. 15. Will you be watching?
