There have already been several celebrities that have tested positive for the coronavirus over the past few months, and now reality star Khloe Kardashian’s name can be added to the list.
People reports that the 36-year-old made the revelation in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Teasers for the episode showed Khloe’s sister Kim and mother Kris Jenner fretting over her as she displayed possible symptoms of the disease.
Kim Kardashian West shared in her confessional for the show that she believed that Khloe does have the disease considering how sick her younger sister is. Jenner, for her part, shared that she was contacting as many doctors as she could to help.
The teaser video did not leave viewers hanging, as it reveals Khloe herself declaring that she does have the virus. She listed vomiting, headaches, and fluctuating body temperature as her symptoms. She also shared that she would feel a burning sensation in her chest with every cough.
As USA Today notes, the revelation does not specify when Khloe tested positive, especially since Kim was recently in hot water because of an insensitive series of social media posts that shared her 40th birthday party celebrations.
In a series of tweets that drew public ire, Kim shared that she had friends and family isolate for two weeks and undergo coronavirus testing before whisking them off to a private island. The tweets included photos of Kim and her family and friends without masks and not practicing social distancing.
One particular tweet talking about health screenings and quarantining became a meme among the general public, with people attaching popular images from pop culture to satirize the tweet.
Khloe Kardashian is just the latest reality television star to test positive for COVID-19. Several weeks ago, a contestant for the British reality competition shows Strictly Come Dancing tested positive for the virus and subsequently recovered.
The contestant -- a YouTuber named Harvey Cantwell who goes by the stage name HRVY -- tested positive early in October. The show’s health and safety protocols required him to quarantine for a week, and if he had tested positive again, he would require his removal from the show.
Fortunately for Cantwell, he tested negative a week later, causing him to send out a celebratory tweet declaring himself “a free elf.” Aside from attaching an image of himself jumping in a puddle, the YouTuber also expressed his gratitude to his well-wishers.
Cantwell wasn’t even the first one to test positive on the show. A crew member of the show had already tested positive before him, prompting the BBC to clean the Strictly Come Dancing set with electrostatic sprayers.
