Prince Harry was recently slammed for lecturing people about the Black Lives Matter movement and telling them what they can do to help.
During a discussion on The Jeremy Vine Show, commentator Dawn Neeson reacted to Prince Harry’s revelation that he didn’t know what unconscious bias was until he lived in Meghan Markle’s shoes for a week. Neeson said that this revelation spoke volumes about Prince Harry’s character.
But the host of the program, Anne Diamond said that Prince Harry cannot be blamed for not knowing what unconscious bias was because he’s upper-class. And he’s a member of the royal family.
However, Neeson said that Prince Harry should focus more on what he can do in the United Kingdom instead of trying to make a difference in the United States.
The commentator said that there also a huge black community in the United Kingdom that Prince Harry can help by returning home, working on the ground, and setting a good example to the youth.
Co-panelist Kate Quilton came to Prince Harry and Markle’s defense by saying that the most important thing is that couple is doing something to help. She also stopped the commentator from bashing the Sussexes.
Neeson said that Prince Harry can do so much more than by lecturing people from his million-dollar mansion.
This week, Prince Harry spoke with Patrick Hutchinson, a Black Lives Matter movement hero, who made headlines after he carried a white counter-protester during an anti-racism rally in June.
During their conversation, Prince Harry praised Hutchinson by calling him a hero and an inspiration.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry also made headlines this week after he reportedly sent a legal warning to Mail on Sunday over a false and defamatory article about his connection with the Armed Forces.
The tabloid claimed that Prince Harry had not been in touch with the Royal Marines since he lost his title as Captain-General. But a rep for the Duke of Sussex told Vanity Fair that this isn’t the case.
According to the rep, Prince Harry has had several conversations with his former colleagues during the lockdown. And he’s also in regular contact with the military personnel on a private and personal basis.
Prince Harry and Markle have an ongoing lawsuit against Mail on Sunday. The couple filed a case against the publication after they published photos of Markle’s handwritten letters to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., months ago.
