Almost two weeks ago, the American songstress-songwriter Demi Lovato recently released her politically-driven song called Commander In Chief. She is practicing what she preached on the lyrics of the song.
The message of Demi Lovato
Demi took Twitter her plea to her fans to vote. She posted a selfie showing off her Vote mask and an I Voted sticker at the Los Angeles voting poll on Monday (October 26).
The star was proud to say that she voted for her country's love and the citizens, even the people that she does not know. Demi also revealed that politics alone got her stressed and anxious.
Moreover, she explained that her post is purely telling everyone to vote and believes that the people have raised their voices and spoke up regardless of the election results. She concluded that if one wants change, an action must be taken, or else, nothing will happen.
I vote because I love my country. From my friends and family members who live here, to my neighbors and millions of people I don’t know, I love the citizens here. This year I’ve been so stressed and anxious from politics alone. pic.twitter.com/p3muA6h5DJ

So please, if you are old enough, please get out there and speak up. P.S. I’m so grateful to have been able to vote because it wasn’t too long ago women didn’t even have those rights.. (see what happens when we demand change? )

Commander in Chief outcry
The singer's controversial single Commander In Chief, released on October 14, was said to have a bold political statement and a message targeting current President Donald Trump.
NPR Music reported that the single is a clear anti-Trump outcry written by Demi with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter and producers Finneas and Eren Cannata. The song conveys a personal appearance during the recently concluded 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
In an item by HuffPost, the diss track is Demi's way of unleashing her anger over Trump's mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic amidst other crises earlier in the election.
It also reports that the pop star publicly eyed the cries for racial justice in the track, addressing the generation that 'won't give up' including will 'stand our ground' in the battle for equality.
The track caused a wide array of kickbacks from fans and some negative suggestions about her career. Demi was criticized on Instagram and was more interested in expressing her beliefs as a citizen than pleasing her fans.
As reported in NME, the Hispanic artist defended her controversial new single through a time-limited story post by emphasizing that she doesn't care if her action ruins her career. She is confident that the song made is a piece of art that stands for something she believes in.
She added in her story that she would instead take integrity in her work over sales any day.
