Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently released a new portrait ahead of their appearance on Time100 Talks last week.
According to reports, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new portrait was taken by photographer Matt Sayles.
Shortly after the portrait was released, multiple publications claimed that Markle and Prince Harry recreated their wedding photos from 2017. After all, the new portrait was also in black and white, and Markle and Prince Harry's poses are similar to one of their wedding pictures.
Us Weekly also revealed that Markle donned a dangerously expensive look in the portrait. After all, the Suits alum wore a $2,800 Alexander McQueen suit and Princess Diana’s $23,000 Cartier watch in the photo.
She also wore a $6,500 Cartier love bracelet in the snap, as well as the $350,000 engagement ring that Prince Harry gave to her in 2017.
In total, the former Hollywood star donned a $382,300 ensemble for her new portrait. Prince Harry, on the other hand, just wore his usual suit and tie for the photo.
Meanwhile, a body language expert analyzed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent portrait. Judi James told The Sun that the portrait didn’t seem like a recreation of Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding photos. Rather, it looked more like they were channeling Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth.
Decades ago, the Duke of Edinburgh and the queen also posed while sitting on a chair. Prince Philip’s arm is also resting on the chair as he sits on the armrest.
But unlike Prince Harry and Markle’s portrait, Prince Philip and the queen are looking at each other in their snap. Prince Harry is looking straight into the camera, while Markle’s head is slightly bent down in their portrait.
James described Markle as shy in the portrait. And even though she used to be an actress and is therefore used to being at the center of attention, Markle made sure to give the focus of the photo to her husband.
And while there are similarities between the queen and Prince Philip and Prince Harry and Markle’s photos, James also said that they differed when it comes to the sexual element.
Markle carefully placed her hand on Prince Harry’s lap, which James said is a subtle sexual sign. This shows that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still besotted with each other and as tactile as when they first started dating four years ago.
