Priyanka Chopra recently revealed that she too faced the pressure of getting married by a certain age. In fact, the Quantico star revealed that she was very disappointed not to be married by age 35. When Chopra tied the knot with 26-year-old singer-actor Nick Jonas, she was 36 years old.

The pair met on Twitter in 2016 after the "Jealous" singer slide into Chopra's DMs. They began having talks and soon developed a friendship. They met each other in real life nearly a year later after meeting on the social media platform.

They began dating in the spring just one year later. Jonas proposed to Chopra on her birthday in July 2018. Their wedding was widely-talked about. A smaller celebration in the United States came after a grand traditional ceremony back in Chopra's home country of India.

While most women face pressure to get married from their parents, relatives, friends, and society in general, Chopra's pressure came mostly from herself. While promoting her new film Evil Eye during an interview with Entertainment Times, revealed that she would put that pressure on herself, thinking she was already 35 years old and would never get married.

Much to Chopra's relief, her mother told her to stop thinking like that and advised to look at things from a different perspective. The actress said her mother asked her to consider all that she has achieved. Despite worrying about not ending up getting married ever, Chopra said she focused on her career rather than marriage.

At Beautycon in Los Angeles last year, Harper’s Bazaar reported that Chopra said she wanted to ensure that the pressure she faced wasn't the end-all and be-all. She admitted taking choices in her life, where her career was her priority and she wasn't finding the right guy.

Some couples fancy not having kids of their own, but Chopra and Jonas have admitted that they would like to have some kids in the future. In an interview with PEOPLE in June 2019, the Baywatch actress said it would happen in the next ten years, but hopefully before that.

She admitted that she is very fond of children and would love to have some of her own. Talking to InStyle about her decision to have kids, Chopra said she wants her existence to have meant something. She noted that she wants her children to appreciate who she was.

Jonas had previously said that he, his brother, and wife always think about the future, focus on building something that leaves a legacy somehow, and a story that they can share with their children in the future.
