Princess Eugenie is, allegedly, devastated to learn that Queen Elizabeth won’t support her baby financially.
New Idea published another misleading headline about Princess Eugenie, saying that it’s quite heartbreaking for the royal to be snubbed by her grandmother.
However, the article is all about the queen not providing financial support to her great-grandchild, which isn’t surprising. In fact, the tabloid was also the one that said that the queen only provides financial support to senior working royals.
And since Princess Eugenie isn’t a senior working royal and she has her own private job, she and her family aren’t entitled to receive money from her grandmother.
It’s unclear why this would be devastating for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter when this has been a common practice within the royal family. And having a baby or two won’t change this rule.
Still, it is possible for the queen to give Princess Eugenie financial support as a gift. And this money will come from her own pocket and not from the official sources.
Meanwhile, it seems that Princess Eugenie doesn’t really mind not receiving financial support from her grandmother. After all, she has a job and her future is already secured since she was very young.
Before the Duke of York stepped back from his royal duties, he released a statement saying that he wants Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to be modern working young women. And he’s glad that they’ve turned out to be like this and more.
The doting dad also said that he’s happy to see his daughters building their own careers.
In related news, there have been claims that the queen has decided to ban Prince Andrew from the delivery room when Princess Eugenie gives birth.
According to OK! magazine, Princess Eugenie asked her grandmother’s support in trying to ban her dad, and she agreed. The queen and Princess Eugenie are allegedly worried that Prince Andrew’s presence at the delivery room would take away the attention from the newest member of the royal family.
However, there is no truth to this claim because Prince Andrew and Princess Eugenie belong to a close-knit family. And the Yorks have supported Prince Andrew even after he’s been accused of having sexually abusing underage women in the 90s.
