With Keeping Up with the Kardashians slated to end next year, fans of the series hope to see the famous family members in different spinoffs. Still, a spinoff doesn't guarantee they would be able to catch a glimpse of their favorite Kardashian-Jenner, considering that one of the weirdest spinoffs barely featured them.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians' successful two-decade run will come to an end soon. The iconic reality show will be leaving an impressive legacy behind, considering that its influence was wider than anyone could have imagined when the show premiered in 2006. For instance, the show's fans wouldn't have imagined that young Kendall and Kylie would grow up to be a supermodel and a businesswoman, respectively.
The family's evolution over the period of time has been so fascinating to fans that they always seemed to want more of the Kardashian-Jenner family. That is exactly why the show has spawned a considerable number of spinoffs, including one that nearly never featured anyone in the family.
A 2015 KUWTK spinoff dubbed Dash Dolls lacked significantly in the Kardashian department. While one of the family members would occasionally show up on camera to play boss for a bit, for the most part, the show revolved around the lives of young women who were working at Dash, the now-defunct boutique that was owned by the Kardashian sisters.
The Kardashian sisters showed up only for token episodes, like the one where Khloé comes for an employee meeting, while her sisters Kim and Kourtney fail to make it. Revolving around an insubstantial premise, coupled with Kardashian-Jenners' absence in the show, left nothing exciting in the show for the fans.
E! had originally planned that the show would focus on the young employees' glamorous lifestyle, but regrettably, the premise didn't really go anywhere. While the show may have created its own fan base, most KUWTK fans didn't find it engaging enough, and as a result, the show ended up getting only one season with eight episodes.
Dash Dolls received negative feedback from critics, and the fans barely watched it, leaving E! with no choice but the pull the plug over the show as fast as they could. The show's IMDb rating is 2.5/10, which is relatively lower as compared to other spinoffs. The show proved that a network couldn't cash in on star power without stars.
There have been a lot of spinoffs of KUWTK, ShowBiz Cheatsheet reported. Some of these spinoffs failed to garner popularity among fans, like Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Life of Kylie, and Revenge Body Khloé Kardashian.
