Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, recently blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle online.
On his Facebook account, Smith seemingly responded to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with the Evening Standard. During the interview, Prince Harry and Markle talked about Black History Month. Prince Harry also admitted to having white privilege.
“With so much stuff going on in the world, still these two muppets are craving attention. Please shut the [expletive] and bring up their child and stop talking, let alone demanding. Harry, you have lost our love and respect. Meghan, you are wrong. Now, hush, please. We are kinda busy saving lives and an economy,” he wrote.
Goldsmith’s post has since been deleted.
Middleton’s uncle is the younger brother of her mom, Carole Middleton. In 2013, Goldsmith talked about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s relationship and why it has lasted for over a decade.
“When I saw them together, you actually just thought, even if he wasn’t going to be the king, they would make a great couple. They were very, very good together,” he said.
Goldsmith also praised Prince William for being relaxed and attentive to his wife’s needs.
“He tries very hard to be a real gentleman. He leaves a massive impact on you,” he said.
Three years ago, Goldsmith made headlines after being arrested for, reportedly, assaulting his wife, Julie-Ann, outside their home in Central London.
“Police in Westminster were called to an address at 01:24hrs on Friday 13 October following reports of a domestic incident. Officers arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of domestic assault. He has been taken to a central London police station for questioning. A woman found injured was taken to hospital,” the statement read.
Goldsmith pleaded guilty to knocking out his wife during a drunken street brawl at Westminster Magistrates court. Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot said that she was looking at giving Middleton’s uncle a community order rather than jail time.
“I am looking at ways of protecting this lady from this man. There may be alcohol issues involved,” she said.
As of late, Middleton has released a statement about Goldsmith’s recent Facebook post. But it is unlikely for the future queen consort to say anything about it.
After all, she also stayed mum following her uncle’s arrest. As members of the royal family, they aren’t allowed to meddle in anything controversial.
