Michelle Obama has been repeatedly praised and complimented by many individuals both in and out of the United States. While her recent recognition and awards largely manifested the fruition of her efforts, the former First Lady herself reportedly revealed that this all entailed a lot of struggles and challenges.
According to Express UK, Barack Obama's wife had a sit-down interview with CBS a few months ago. In her interview, she reportedly shared several "never-been-heard" details about her life for the past decade.
Based on her claims, she knew then that she will be "treated differently" once she enters the White House and officially assumes the position as the First Lady of the United States. This was said to be her thoughts prior to her and her husband's arrival inside the White House.
Michelle Obama then stated that she also knew that she will never be given the "benefit of the doubt," unlike the former First Ladies before her. I "clearly" knew that I need to "earn my grace," she explained.
Aside from these revelations, the former First Lady claimed that she also had to "prove" herself from everyone. She said that she needed to show that she was not only "smart and strategic" but, also "willing" to exert much more effort than the other First Ladies.
Michelle also reportedly wanted "all young girls" today to know about the apparent struggles of being defined by others in "a negative way." She explained that this is a huge challenge for everyone as it hinders the chance for people to tell their stories.
The revelations further went on as per Newsbreak. The publication noted that Michelle Obama even revealed that as her popularity rises over the years, "people of all sides" constantly tried to take her down by the knees. Even so, she said that the "best way" to deal with it was to "focus" on the "strength of a black woman."
It seemingly appears that her responses from all the detractors from previous years all paid out. As it happened, she was and has been still loved by many citizens despite her notions that she will be treated differently from the other First Ladies of the United States.
The same reports also shared that Michelle Obama recently "looked back" and reminisced about her life in the last decade. She deemed the last ten years of her life as a "whirlwind" given that she did not reportedly plan any of this at all to happen.
