Kate Middleton is, allegedly, pregnant with baby number four and Princess Charlotte was the one that confirmed the news.
New Idea published the dubious story on the royals earlier this week. They claimed that Middleton holding her belly is a tell-tale sign that she’s expecting.
The tabloid also claimed that Princess Charlotte’s excited face while listening to Sir David Attenborough’s documentary is another tell-tale sign that her mom is pregnant.
However, Gossip Cop has debunked the tabloid’s claims by saying that this isn’t the case. In fact, the tabloid failed to mention how else Princess Charlotte couldn’t confirm that her mom is pregnant with a baby boy.
And the only way for the young royal to have done it is if she stated this directly out loud. However, this isn’t the case.
“This is a bait-and-switch to make you think the baby news comes from the family and works with the cover claim that the ‘palace confirms’ the pregnancy,” Gossip Cop said.
According to the rumor-debunking site, New Idea has been claiming that Middleton is pregnant with baby number four for years. In June, the tabloid alleged that Prince William was the one that confirmed his wife’s pregnancy.
But upon closer inspection, the article is about a palace insider claiming that the lockdown has encouraged Prince William to think about expanding his family.
“He’s loved getting to spend more time with the kids, and it got him thinking that maybe he does want another. Of course, that was music to Kate’s ears. She’s always been keen. In a perfect world she’d have two of each,” the source said.
However, nothing in this statement shows that the Duke of Cambridge confirmed Middleton’s pregnancy. And he can’t possibly do this because his wife isn’t pregnant.
And even if the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant, the announcement usually comes from the palace and not from the royal couple themselves. It is only after the palace’s announcement that Prince William and Middleton briefly comment on the latter’s pregnancy.
On several other occasions, New Idea has claimed that Middleton is expecting twins with her husband. There are also times wherein they claimed to know the gender of the royal couple’s baby.
However, none of these claims are true. When it comes to royal family stories, this tabloid can’t seemingly be trusted.
