Above listed are some of the actress’ most significant roles – and another one probably more popular is her role in the 1999’s erotic mystery psychological drama "Eyes Wide Shut." Kidman plays the wife of a young man and once considered having an extramarital affair.
"Eyes Wide Shut" marked the third time that Kidman teamed with her then-husband Tom Cruise. As per Kidman, she and the movie helmer Stanley Kubrick reached an agreement where she would have the final say over where to make cuts in her nude scenes for the finished version of the movie.
The film opened worldwide in the year 1999 and revolves around a man's sexual jaunt in the night after being upset from his wife’s confession about almost having an affair with a man behind his back.
Nicole Kidman shared what exactly happened as Kubrick approached her for the "Eyes Wide Shut." The actress said that Kubrick straightforwardly asked her if she would be up to go full-frontal nude – about which she wasn’t very sure. Since the script was strong and had already impressed the actress, she didn’t say not instead she and Kubrick drew out a win-win contract which would allow her to check and edit which of her nude scenes make it into the finished version of the movie.
Talking about what the contract was all about, the actress said, “He would show me the scenes with the nudity before they made it into the film. Then I could feel completely safe. I didn't say no to any of it." The actress said that she was just trying to make sure that it all goes well and she doesn't become a laughing stock for people.
She added on to say that after she got protected she could delve into a "complicated marriage" and could better understand the reason for jealousy of her husband played by Tom.
The erotic drama, as expected, impressed both fans and critics alike big time and has become one of the golden movies of Kidman’s career having earned over $162 million on a budget of about $62 million.
For the last part, the actress shared her thoughts on the legendary director telling that he was a calm and nice person inside, not as fearsome as he was widely considered to be.
