Camilla Parker Bowles recently released a video announcing the opening of the NHS Nightingale Hospital North West.
Just weeks earlier, Queen Elizabeth released an Easter message while self-isolating at Windsor Castle.
New Idea accused Camilla of ripping the Queen’s message off due to the similarities between their video messages.
“In creating this Nightingale hospital, you have truly brought light to a dark time. But this is not surprising. Manchester is a past master at bringing light to dark times. After all, this is not the first time you have shown the world what it is to meet a great challenge with even greater resolve,” Camilla said.
The Duchess of Cornwall then recounted the time when she and Prince Charles visited Manchester three years ago. She said that they were moved by the city’s courage and unity following the bombing that took the lives of some people.
Towards the end of her video message, Camilla expressed her deepest admiration for the single-minded dedication behind the creation of the hospital. She also praised all the efforts directed at caring for those who have been affected by COVID-19.
Camilla said that this gives the public the hope and the confidence they need to believe that the virus will eventually be defeated.
Meanwhile, the Queen reminded Britons that Easter isn’t canceled even though everyone is required to self-isolate at home.
“Many religions have festivals which celebrate life overcoming darkness. Such occasions are often accompanied by the lighting of candles. They seem to speak to every culture and appeal to people of all faiths, and of none,” the Queen said.
Her Majesty also said that this year’s Easter will be very different compared to the previous celebrations. However, by keeping apart, everyone will be able to keep each other safe.
However, Camilla and the Queen’s respective video messages couldn’t be more different from each other. The content of their speeches is also diverse.
The only similarity between the video messages is that they were filmed indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In related news, Prince Charles and Camilla greeted the Queen on her 94th birthday on April 21.
On their official Twitter account via the Clarence House, the royal couple shared adorable photos with Her Majesty.
One of the snaps shows a young Queen doting on Prince Charles. Another snap shows Prince Charles kissing his mother’s hand in public.
Camilla is also photographed sitting beside the Queen on a horse-drawn carriage. And a fourth photo shows the Queen sitting in between Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
