Ryan Murphy is on cloud nine as his son, Ford battled cancer and turned six-year-old. The screenwriter informed his fans and followers on Sunday through Instagram and celebrated the battle of his son.

"Much love and respect to our warrior Ford Theodore Miller Murphy, who battled neuroblastoma cancer at 18 months and survived and thrived and today celebrated his SIXTH birthday," the 54-year-old producer and writer captioned the post.

Along with the caption, Murphy uploaded a picture of his son looking at the camera lens and surrounded by the sleeping bag with cheetah print on it. He acknowledged the doctors of Children's Hospital Los Angeles in California along with the helpers who were continuously caring and loving the little one.

Murphy revealed that there is a special wing that has been named after Ford because of his spirit and the victory he achieved. The producer believes that it will give motivation to the children who are fighting cancer.

The producer further wrote that his son loves wild animals and that's why he loves the cheetah printed sleeping bag. He addressed his son in another picture as "King of The Day". The little one was diagnosed in 2016 with neuroblastoma and later he went under several procedures in order to cure cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, this type of cancer starts in the nerve cells at a very early age. It is most often seen in a fetus or an embryo and usually found in young children or infants. Neuroblastoma is rarely found in someone who is 10-year-old or older.

Murphy disclosed the diagnoses for the first time in 2018 and said that he and David Miller secretly lived in the fear of watching their son battle against cancer while being in immense pain. He recalled Miller standing tall with him during the difficult times.

The American Horror Story writer praised his better half for being loving, patient, and strong throughout the battle while he admitted being a "trembling wreck". The couple who got married back in 2012, shares three children together, Miller, who is one-month-old, Griffin Sullivan, and Logan Phineas, who is seven-year-old.

In the same year of diagnosis, Murphy gifted the hospital $10 million and donated a dedicated wing as a tribute to his son. The producer said that he wants other kids to experience the same care and love from the hospital with the best facility.
