The 63-year-old actress also revealed how she felt looking at herself being animated on-screen. The actress jokingly said that her animation could have looked "cuter". The Princess and the Frog star said that she loves portraying Ruby on-screen and the creators did a great job.
Lewis said that when she learned about getting an animated version of the show she was extremely glad as she doesn't have to be on the sets for at least two more weeks. The actress showed her concern due to the ongoing pandemic.
"And the script for the election special episode is brilliant. All about the Millennials voting and what we have to do, and Junior growing up to where he can vote," she explained. The actress said that the creators have addressed all the Millennial's issues with a pinch of humor and the writers are the true stars of the show as they pulled everything correctly.
Matthew A. Cherry will helm the upcoming episode and the animation is created by Big Jump Entertainment and Smiley Guy Studios. While working with the 38-year-old director, Lewis said that she "blushed a little" as she loves following the notes.
Lewis admitted that Cherry is pretty strict with his notes and he did like to stick with it throughout the filming. Meanwhile, the show gives Earl played by Laurence Fishburne, and Ruby a spin-off as they are willing to give another shot to be together.
The spinoff is named Old-ish and Lewis believes that it will be amazing. While the actress noted that she belongs to a "Boomer" generation, the show will give away some traditional style of loving. She revealed that the show is currently under development process.
