Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ has been one of the most viewed series on the streaming giant’s platform. It has been praised by critics due to its portrayal of the British royal family with consistency.
The show has already been on the air for three seasons and has depicted the life of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in the first two seasons.
The accuracy that the producers and director aim has been highly regarded that even the royal family watches the show.
In the third season of the show, Prince Charles' appearance on the storyline has everyone excited, although the season tackled the hardships that the prince had to endure it also shines a light on his relationship with his second wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles.
But what’s the most interesting storyline is in the fourth season of ‘The Crown’.
Netflix revealed a trailer of the fourth season, which showed the entry of the late Princess Diana, Princess of Wales in the show.
This has created a massive buzz amongst the royal fans as ‘The Crown’ fans. With the revelation that in the show Princess Diana’s bulimia was to be discussed, this has created an unforeseen negative impact from the royal family.
In a recent interview with the creator of ‘The Crown’ in Vanity Fair, Peter Morgan discussed the similarities of Princess Diana and Meghan Markle.
He explained that it was quite obvious that the two royals had a paralleled lifestyle. The way that Princess Diana and Meghan Markle were headstrong and opinionated.
Mr. Morgan also discussed Diana and Meghan’s seemingly unwelcomed attitude in the royal family.
“Really, the only version of events that works is if somebody comes in and becomes invisible, and just sort of knuckles down to a lifetime of agreeable supplicancy to the duties of the crown,” Morgan explained.
He continued on saying the Diana never fit the mold of a compliant princess. She was known to be a rule-breaker in the royal family and was well-loved by it by the people.
Meghan Markle as well has been scrutinized for being outspoken. As a royal, she was expected to stay complacent and shy and was rarely heard.
The following did not sit right with Meghan Markle. The continuous scrutiny of the media on her actions have led to the Duchess deciding to forego her royal duties.
Prince Harry luckily is a living replica of his mother, Princess Diana, and was very supportive of the decision of leaving the royal folds.
‘The Crown’ season 4 will be released on Nov. 15, 2020.
