One of Angelina Jolie’s most memorable roles was her character, Lisa from Girl, Interrupted.

According to Cheat Sheet, Winona Ryder was the one that insisted on casting Jolie in the movie. After all, she was an executive producer for Girl, Interrupted. The actress also played the role of Susanna in the movie.

The publication revealed that Ryder was the first choice for the character of Lisa. However, the actress refused to play the part because she related more to Susanna.

Ryder and Jolie reportedly became friends while working on the set of Girl, Interrupted. But after the filming wrapped up, Ryder noticed how Jolie distanced herself from the Stranger Things star.

It didn’t take long for Ryder to realize that Jolie became friends with her as Lisa and not as her actual self. In fact, the Maleficent star never even thanked Ryder for encouraging the directors to cast her in the movie.

Following the movie’s release, Jolie received praise for her portrayal of Lisa. Ryder, on the other hand, didn’t receive much attention for her portrayal of Susanna. But according to the publication, Ryder didn’t really mind because she knew that this is what would happen.

Meanwhile, Jolie’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt was also linked to Girl, Interrupted this week. According to Us Weekly, Pitt wants Jolie’s co-star, Jillian Armenante to testify at their upcoming court hearing.

The other people that Pitt wants to make an appearance at the hearing includes his therapist, security guard, and psychologists.

Pitt and Jolie are still fighting over the custody of five of their six children who are still minors. Their eldest son, Maddox is no longer under the custody of his parents because he’s already 19 years old.

But even if he was still a minor, it’s unlikely for Maddox to want to stay with his dad over his mom. After all, he reportedly got into an altercation with the Ad Astra actor years ago. And the incident was what led Jolie to file for divorce from Pitt.

According to a source, tensions between Pitt and Jolie are getting worse ahead of their court hearing. They are expected to face each other in court sometime this month.
