Eva Mendes took to Instagram to explain just why she rarely posts pictures of partner Ryan Gosling and her daughters.
E! Online shared the actress draws clear boundaries when it comes to her daughter and Ryan. The revelation came about after she posted one of her favorite paintings on her Instagram account, along with the caption that since she does not post about her immediate family, she hoped that the painting will give someone hope. A fan then asked her why she does not post about her immediate family and this is her response.
Aside from separating her private life from her work as an actress, she says that her children are still so little and don't understand what posting their image really means, I don't have their consent. And I won't post their image until they're old enough to give me consent.
Privacy is a big issue for her, hence her decision to also not post any pictures of her partner, actor Ryan Gosling. She says that this is what works for them and that they have always valued their privacy.
The two have been together since 2011. They dated after they met while working on the movie 'The Place Beyond the Pines' where they played one-time lovers who share a son. The two eventually welcomed their daughters Esmeralda and Amada, who were born in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
It has been a while since Eva has appeared on film. Her last movie, 'Lost River', was in 2014. The movie was actually directed by Ryan Gosling. She addressed her years of hiatus earlier this year, saying that she has chosen to be a mother and prioritize her daughters over her acting career.
She says that she wants to be an example to her daughters, and so her roles are limited because there are some that she will not do due to her status of being a mother. She does not seem to regret her decision and has found fulfillment in being a mother to her two daughters. She did say that she would like to someday act with her partner again in the future.
Ryan meanwhile has found success in his professional life. He won a Golden Globe Award for his role in the hit movie 'La La Land.' Gosling gave tribute to Eva on his acceptance speech, thanking her for being there for him and stepping up so that he can complete the film
