The Kardashian-Jenner clan has been sharing their lives with Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans for more than 14 years, and the family is understandably tired of being in the public eye, but it looks like some family members are more fed up than others. While Khloe and Kim Kardashian seem to enjoy sharing their lives with the public, other members, including Kendall Jenner have tried avoiding making appearances on the show.
Considering she was very young when KUWTK started in 2007, Kendall probably didn't have a say in the family's decision to participate in the show. It can't be ignored that the show profoundly changed her life as Kendall grew in front of millions of viewers, which benefited, but also sometimes got on her nerves.
While being a regular teen isn't easy when the eyes of the world are monitoring your every move, Jenner cashed in on her early fame to launch successful modeling and has walked the runway for some of the most popular brands in fashion including Victoria’s Secret, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and more. She even topped Forbes' list of the world’s highest-paid in 2018 after earning $22.5 million that year.
The younger family members have distanced themselves from KUWTK, with Kendall and Kylie Jenner both making only occasional appearances on the show, unlike their older sisters. Ardent fans of the show brought up this issue citing arguments about Kourtney Kardashian‘s declining participation in the show.
Khloe and Kim confronted the Poosh founder during an episode of KUWTK, claiming she isn't doing her fair share of filming. But fans didn't understand why they were angry with Kourtney when Kylie and Kourtney rarely filmed for the show anymore.
A Twitterati, raised questions regarding Kendall and Kylie having different contracts for the show, considering Kendall rarely films, while Kylie isn't featured a lot. "Kendall and Kylie have different contracts. Kourt, Kim and I have an equal contract," Khloe clarified.
In other words, Kendall and Kylie do not need to film for the show as often as other family members does and it looks like it has been that way for quite some time now. Kendal took advantage of her fame from the show to build her career but has been trying to move away from it for a long time.
An Inside told Radar Online last year that Kendal wanted to "break free" from the rest of her famous family so that she could focus more on her career. Moreover, the insider revealed that Kendall doesn't shy away from admitting that she needs to distance herself from her sisters considering she has several upcoming projects that don't include them.
In 2018, another insider told the same outlet that Kendall wanted to be "phased out as soon as possible.” There is a possibility that Kendall might be afraid that her association with reality TV could have a negative impact on her career in fashion.
