Prince William has been one of the biggest environmentalists in the royal family, following the footstep of his father, he has taken a big leap of faith for promoting the environment in his time as Duke of Cambridge.
The Prince who has three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, Prince Louis, 2, has openly discussed how fatherhood changed his perception of the environment.
Recently, he has partnered with Sir David Attenborough, a famous environmentalist and host of shows tackling the earth and climate change for the project Earthshot, and because of this, the two have grown close.
A recent meeting between the two was conducted, last week Sir David Attenborough was in Kensington Palace to attend an early showing of his latest documentary ‘David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet’.
The 80-minute film was screened exclusively for Prince William and his family.
According to Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, the kids are big fans of David Attenborough and revealed that he was Prince George’s favorite celebrity.
During the visit, Sir David Attenborough gifted the young Prince George a 25 million-year-old shark tooth, which he found in Malta while on a family vacation.
A photo was taken with the Cambridge family and David Attenborough, and Prince George was seen holding the shark tooth, Princess Charlotte was looking delighted at Sir David Attenborough.
The photo was shared on the official Instagram account of the Cambridge’s, Kensington Palace and has been liked by over a million people.
In the caption, it said that Prince William and Kate Middleton met Sir David Attenborough for an exclusive viewing of his newest ITV documentary.
Prince William and Sir David Attenborough go a long way back and with their shared interest in being Earth warriors, the two were able to launch the campaign ‘Earthshot’.
Earthshot is the biggest global environmental campaign up to date. It has the aims of funding five individuals, organizations or companies over a 10-year period.
Prince William has spoken about the campaign over a virtual TED talk telecast. He explained that the influence of Earthshot comes from the NASA moon project, wherein scientists at NASA launched the campaign ‘Moonshot’, which made the moon project a success.
“It is a terrifying look at what we've done to the planet and where we are today, but it also offers hope and cause for optimism because if we can act now, and act together, we can turn things around,” Prince William commented after watching David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet.
