With the pandemic happening, there has been a shift to the description of what ‘normal’ is nowadays. Especially when it comes to big events and gatherings, some choose to do it virtually, while others can do it in a real life setting, but only a few can attend.
The movie industry has entirely adapted the new normal due to the ongoing pandemic. A lot of the films that were supposedly being released this year has been moved to next year.
But on the brighter side, many of our most beloved actors and actresses have so much time in their hand that numerous reunions have been happening in the show business world.
Now, news has come out that there will be a Hocus Pocus reunion.
The movie Hocus Pocus, which starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy was released over 25 years ago!! The announcement of the Hocus Pocus reunion with all three artists is for Bette Midler’s annual fundraising gala.
The gala, which is for the New York Restoration Project will, unfortunately, be done online, and the reunion will be virtual.
But this news has made fans of the cult movie very excited.
The theme of the gala is ‘In Search For The Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover’.
Middler shared the post on her Instagram, which garnered much attention from her fans. The virtual reunion will have virtual classes in the exclusive Sanderson Sisters Charm School, there will also be merchandise available with all proceeds going to the Restoration Project.
There have also been rumors circulating regarding a sequel for Hocus Pocus on Disney+, to which Middler and Najimy have commented on.
According to Midler, the offer hasn’t come yet but she hopes that it will happen before she passes away, she said jokingly. She continued to say that she hopes Disney+ will be a huge success so that she can play the role of Winfred Sanderson again.
Najimy on the other hand answered honestly by responding that it depends on whether all of them are available to do the sequel.
She continued on pointing out that Middler, Jessica Parker and her have numerous projects going on for them, and it would be great if all of them could take on the role once again for Hocus Pocus 2.
“[And] if we're not all available to star in it, I think it would be so great to do a cameo. I think that'd be really fun,” Namijy said.
