Drew Barrymore's latest talk show named The Drew Barrymore Show has got a ray of light during the pandemic. However, the newly dropped episode took an emotional toll on the host as well as the special guest.
In the latest episode released on Sept. 25, the 45-year-old actress interviewed her second spouse, Tom Green. The 49-year-old American-Canadian comedian married Barrymore back in 2001 and their marriage lasted for one year.
However, the comedian revealed that this show became the reason for them to speak in person after 15 years of gap. Green began the conversation by praising his ex-wife and said that his parents were extremely happy to learn that the Santa Clarita Diet star has started her own show.
Green remembered when he was at Barrymore's parents' lake house and heard some voices from upstairs. "I was by myself and I was going to sleep, and I was like, 'This is what safety and contentedness feel before you’re going to sleep,'" the comedian shared fond memories of his parents.
Barrymore went emotional as the ex-couple discussed all the time they spent together and their reunion. Green who never married after getting divorced from Barrymore said that he loved her parents and her.
He went on to explain how thrilling this reunion feels to him as 20 years went away in the "blink of an eye" and they both lived these 20 years without each other. However, he said that the best part is that we came together again and checking on one another.
Green further said that the entire world including him celebrates Barrymore and he always did in the past and will keep doing in the future. The duo then discussed how they first met and recalled when Barrymore got Green into Charlie's Angels, which released in 2000.
The two agreed that's when they fall for each other. Green shared one of the fun memories of their first dates and said that they both decided to get live lobsters for the meal but surprisingly, they both turned out to be animal lovers and as a result, they let those lobsters free in the ocean.
Barrymore also shared a moment when Green gifted her a camera and that's why she still loves photography. Green recalled having a new dog, who he named Charlie and kept with him because Barrymore and he both loved him affectionately. While most of the episodes of the show make the audience smile, this one had many tears rolling down the cheeks.
