Princess Eugenie and husband, Jack Brooksbank announced earlier today that they are expecting their first child together. The couple who married back in October 2018, shared this great baby royal news via there official Instagram.
The announcement was made when a post was uploaded showing a photo of baby shoes, captioned with ‘Jack and I are so excited for early 2021…’
Immediately fans of the couple wished them well on their upcoming parenthood journey.
Mother of Princess Eugenie, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York also congratulated the couple. She expressed her joy over the news and that she can’t wait to be a grandmother.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child will be Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s first grandchild and will be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s ninth great-grandchild.
In the Duchess of York’s show, Storytime with Sarah and Friends, the Duchess read a tale of magic called ‘Nana Maureen’, which is very much appropriate for the occasion the York family is celebrating.
The Queen and Prince Philip also extended their congratulations to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
According to Sarah Ferguson, the new baby will be their first biological grandchild, but they already have one from Princess Beatrice’s marriage with Mapelli Mozzi. Mapelli has one child, Wolfie, 3, from a previous relationship, and Fergie was quick to explain that they consider Wolfie very much as their grandchild and love him as much.
The soon to be grandmother and granddad have announced that they are overjoyed by the news of Eugenie’s pregnancy and cannot wait to see the baby next year.
The York family has been embroiled in a massive scandal late last year, which shook the royal family and saw the forfeit of the York’s patriarch, Prince Andrew of his royal duties.
This scandal has also been a big reason as to why Prince Andrew was not seen during Princess Beatrice’s secret marriage to Mapelli Mozzi.
Now, that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are expecting this news may take off a lot of pressure on Prince Andrew.
As for the title of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, he/she will not carry any title due to their father having no royal title at all.
This can be changed though if the Queen says or orders so. The child can be given an earldom but is most unlikely.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child will be 11th-in-line for the throne.
