Pop supergroup BTS continues its campaign in the United States. This time, the group will be seen for five nights on American television screens as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon just announced a BTS Week.
Entertainment Weekly reports that BTS Week will start of on Sept. 28 and will feature interviews, sketches, and unique performances for each day of BTS Week. Of course, the band will be performing Dynamite, their latest song that recently spent two weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100.
In a statement released to the publication, Jimmy Fallon said that he is excited to have the group back for a whole week and that the production is preparing a lot of exciting things for the week-long event.
Variety also quotes Fallon as saying that since the show had BTS perform their single ON at the Grand Central Terminal, the only way they would be able to top it would be to have the band be guest and performer for the whole week.
The publication points out that the announcement comes after the latest BTS single Dynamite broke several industry records. Aside from topping the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks and staying on Top 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for another two weeks, the music video for the song was also able to rack up more than 100 million views in the space of 24 hours.
The week-long stint on Fallon also follows several guest appearances on American television, with the latest being a performance on the semifinal episode of America’s Got Talent. BTS also performed on NBC’s morning show, Today.
BTS will be joining Miley Cyrus as one of the artists to spend the whole week performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The show has also held special episodes for other stars like Ariana Grande, who in 2018 was Fallon’s one and only guest for an entire episode. Fallon has also had Cardi B as a co-host on the show, the first celebrity to do so.
Earlier this year, the group also participated in YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020, where they joined Barack and Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Malala Yousafzai, and Lady Gaga in delivering inspiring messages to the graduating class of 2020.
Among the messages the group shared during their commencement address include a desire for their stories to bring inspiration, comfort, and hope to their fans, a wish for the supporters to have faith in themselves, as well as telling the audience to focus on the things they can change rather than on those beyond their control.
