Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are, reportedly, struggling to divide their assets. And one of their controversial properties is Chateau Miraval.
According to Daily Star, the divorce battle between Jolie and Pitt continues over their combined fortune close to $650 million. Additionally, the A-listers are also battling it out in court over the custody of their six children.
As of late, Jolie and Pitt still couldn’t agree on anything. But the Maleficent star, allegedly, became enraged after learning that Pitt took his girlfriend, Nicole Poturalski to the vineyard.
According to the publication, Chateau Miraval could sell for a huge sum of money considering it has 35 rooms. However, Jolie doesn’t want to go down without a fight.
“Angelina is digging her heels in now and wants to keep Miraval herself,” the source said.
Reports about Pitt and Jolie fighting over the property have been rife for years. After their split in 2016, reports swirled that Jolie wanted to sell Chateau Miraval.
According to Us Weekly, the Ad Astra is not thrilled with what Jolie is trying to do. She, allegedly, wants to sell the winery to help further her political career in London.
“Angelina is ramping up her efforts in the political world,” a source said.
However, Pitt is, reportedly, fighting tooth and nail to make sure that his ex-wife won’t be able to sell the property. After all, he worked on having it renovated.
As of late, Jolie and Pitt have not yet commented on their actual plans for the property. As such, all the claims made about it are just merely based on hearsay.
The issue over Chateau Miraval was revived following Pitt and Poturalski’s recent trip to France. Last month, the exes also made headlines after Jolie requested Judge John W. Ouderkirk to be removed from their custody case.
The Unbroken director, reportedly, had fears that Ouderkirk would make potentially biased decisions on their case because of his connections with Pitt’s legal counsel.
However, the judge, later on, released a statement saying that he will remain impartial when tending to the case.
“I will continue to consider accepting other cases as other additional cases may arise from time to time while the Jolie/Pitt case is still pending. Such other cases might involve a party, lawyer‚ law firm and/or witnesses involved in the Jolie/Pitt matter,” he said.
