Queen Elizabeth, reportedly, made a hilarious comment at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s royal wedding.
In 2018, the monarch hosted the royal couple’s reception at Windsor Castle. And the event was attended by several guests.
While speaking on the podcast What Were You Thinking? model Pixie Geldof, who has been friends with Princess Eugenie for years, said that the queen made cheeky remarks at the reception.
I didn’t meet her but she was walking around saying stuff like, ‘Well, it’s great that I have a house big enough to hold all these guests.’ She’s full LOL. She was being funny. She was like, ‘Welcome to my home,’” she said.
Geldof also revealed that she fell over at the royal wedding but she immediately managed to get herself back together.
“No, no like stacked it, but not onto the floor. Like stood completely still, stacked it. And, not drunk. Hadn't drunk,” she said.
The queen’s former protection officer, Richard Griffin also shared a hilarious story about his boss. He said that the queen was approached by a group of American tourists while she was walking around Balmoral Castle.
The tourists asked the queen if she’s ever met Her Majesty. And since they didn’t realize that they were talking to the queen, she uttered a joke.
“No, but he has,” the queen pointed at Griffin.
In 1986, the queen went to New Zealand, but she didn’t receive a gracious welcome. A group of protesters threw eggs at her, but she just mocked the incident at the state banquet.
“I myself prefer my New Zealand eggs for breakfast,” she joked.
Two years ago, the queen also showed her hilarious side by uttering a joke about Donald Trump.
In a documentary with Sir David Attenborough, the queen toured him in her private gardens at Buckingham Palace. The queen seemingly became frustrated with the helicopters flying above their heads.
“Why do they always go round and round when you want to talk? Sounds like President Trump, or President Obama,” she joked.
The queen’s grandsons, Prince William has also teased his grandmother in public.
Prince William revealed that in 2011, the queen visited the Storehouse pub.
“Now, ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you it is not often that I find myself following The Queen to a pub. But I am looking forward to testing for myself the theory that Guinness tastes even better in Ireland than overseas,” he said.
