An exciting event will be happening for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as Prince Harry’s birthday will be happening quite soon, particularly on Sept. 15. The couple who is currently thriving with their brand new life in the United States will have something special to celebrate during Prince Harry’s 36th birthday.
Prince Harry’s birthday has always been a big celebration for the royal family, on normal times, the Prince would be going around the different patronages he has and celebrates his birthday with them.
But the Duke of Sussex, who together with his wife, Meghan Markle and his son, Archie, stepped down from their royal duties, his 36th birthday will be different.
Sept. 15 is also a special date for the couple, as last year this was the date chosen to launch their first royal tour as a married couple in South Africa. The royal tour of Harry and Meghan was hugely successful but it was also the tour that the couple openly talked about struggling to cope with the royal life.
Their statements regarding their hardships signaled the start of their plans to leave their royal duties. The decision of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the royal family was not apparent until January 2020, where they announced it publicly, it was finalized on March 2020.
Now, the couple is staying in Montecito, Santa Barbara in California, where they purchased a massive mansion and where they will be celebrating Prince Harry’s 36th birthday as private citizens.
Meghan Markle also celebrated her birthday last July in their brand new home, together with Harry, their son and her mother. According to the royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliam, "Harry's 36th birthday is on Tuesday and this deal and the freedom it brings, has given him and Meghan a very great deal to celebrate."
The couple has been hugely successful in America, and in less than six months they were able to sign a deal with Netflix, which rumors say had a payout of $150 million.
They were heavily criticized for this action though and was bombarded by hurtful comments from well-known celebrities and their fans.
The Queen was urged to strip them off of their titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as being called out for not paying their debt for the renovations of Frogmore Cottage.
The couple has since paid their debt of $3 million back to the royal fund for the refurbishments of Frogmore Cottage. They also have chosen to keep the house, signaling that the couple has plans to return to the UK sometime soon.
