While Dancing With the Stars has been making headlines for various reasons such as former hosts leaving the show, there are certain things that grabbed fans' attention even more. In the latest season, there are some unexpected performances by the stars.
One such as performance was done by Carole Baskin, who is a big-cat rights activist. The 59-year-old made her debut at Dancing With the Stars in the new season of the show. As fans predicted, the performance was epic and entertaining to the core.
The Big Cat Rescue's CEO was dipped into a dress that had an animal print from top to bottom and moved her body at Pasodoble on Eye of the Tiger track by Survivor. Baskin was accompanied by Pasha Pashkov who is a professional dancer from Russia and both of them managed to entertain the audiences pretty well.
The duo received comments from the judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba based on their performance. Hough was impressed by the performance and said that the dancing couple smashed the dance floor while Ann Inaba noted that they didn't hold themselves back from dancing, which made it "fantastic".
However, the judges gave them scores that were lowest for that evening, 11 points out of 30. In an interview with ET before the performance, Baskin disclosed that Eye of the Tiger song was her choice and she encouraged designers to go wild when it comes to the outfit.
"The people in wardrobe asked me what they could do and I told them to go just absolutely wild. So, I think you're going to be as surprised as I am," she told one week before the performance. However, when Baskin announced that she will be seen on Dance with the Stars she cleared why she chose to join the show.
The activist explained that she isn't coming on the show for the sake of her image's redemption. Instead, she said it’s her love for the animals that is bringing her to the show. According to Baskin, her decision to enter the show will help the cats as people will constantly think about these big cats being in the cage and getting exploited on daily basis.
She explained that her aim is to ensure that private possession of such big cats is stopped immediately and focus on protecting them instead. However, she said that the Tiger King editors didn't focus on the cats but she is hopeful that it won't happen at this show.
