Prince Harry is already planning his big return to the United Kingdom soon.
During an interview on the Royal Rota podcast, host Lizzie Robinson said that Prince Harry must have already returned home months ago if not for the coronavirus pandemic.
“While Frogmore is laying empty at the moment, Harry said himself that they would have come over had it not been for COVID, and they would have been using it. Presumably, he is coming over to Europe for next year's Invictus Games. They're still going ahead in the Hague in the Netherlands. You would expect to see him there, but I guess everything is still up in the air,” she said.
Last month, the Duke of Sussex hinted at his return while discussing his plans for the Invictus Games.
“We've got a whole Rugby League World Cup coming next year, so I definitely plan on coming back. I would have been back already had it not been for COVID,” he said.
But according to royal experts, it is unlikely for Markle to return to the United Kingdom anytime soon. Back then, she and Prince Harry were still residing in Toronto.
A close friend of the Duchess of Sussex told Daily Mail that Markle doesn’t want to raise her son, Archie in the UK and she doesn’t also want to go back and forth between the UK and the US.
“She’ll make extended visits but that’s it. They are looking for a permanent residence in Canada. She said she wants a country house in Whistler outside of Vancouver and a home in Toronto,” the source said.
However, not much has changed about Markle’s desire to return to the United Kingdom. Now that she’s very busy in the United States, she won’t have much time to spare to go to Prince Harry’s hometown.
But other publications are claiming that Prince Harry and Markle will return to the United Kingdom together. In the book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand said that the couple’s work and patronages in the United Kingdom will continue.
This means that they would have to visit the UK in the coming months to become more involved with their charities and organizations.
“While their base will be in the US, I think once travel restrictions ease we will see them moving around again and undertaking trips to the UK, both privately and professionally. A lot of the work they already started, including all four of Meghan’s patronages, are right here on British soil,” they said.
