While fans were having a meltdown that their favorite star Christopher Meloni is not going to appear on the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the creators ensured that the fans are excited again. The 59-year-old star will be seen in the second season of Bless the Harts as a guest actor.
Bless the Harts is an animated sitcom created by Emily Spivey that revolves around a Southern family. The family is trying to achieve the dream of America but the family learns that they already have enough laughter, family, and friends.
Meloni will portray Detective Voccola's character on Fox's animated sitcom and his character has been narrated as someone who is explosive, full of cynicism detective who believes that he has seen everything in life and sick of almost everything around him.
However, Detective Voccola comes across a woman, Betty Hart who brings change into his life. The episode when the Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp star will appear on the show is slated to premiere next year.
While fans have to wait for a couple of months to witness their favorite star as a cartoon character, it is slated to release before the next season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The primary characters of the show have been voiced by popular stars such as Kumail Nanjiani, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, Jillian Bell, and Kristen Wiig.
There are other special appearances on the second season that consists of Kristen Schaal, Natasha Lyonne, and Ken Jeong. Meloni is also set to work on the spinoff called Law & Order: Organized Crime in which the actor will portray Detective Elliot Stabler's character. The project is supposed to release in 2021.
The actor confirmed in July that Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's co-star, Mariska Hargitay will also accompany him on the spinoff series. The 56-year-old actress will portray Olivia Benson's character on the show, which she had played as New York Police Department is a longtime cast member.
"Oh yeah!" he said on The Talk. "How much? I don't know, because I hear she has her own day job. I think whatever we can slice away, whatever the writers come up with. I think we will both be looking forward to playing with each other in each other's sandbox," he revealed.
The actor said that he has faith in the writers of the show and they will come up with something great for sure. Meanwhile, Bless the Harts' second season will start from Sept. 27 on Fox.
